He lives his quiet life and is always seeking out new hobbies and interests such as chess, reading, and even cooking and sewing dresses for Masha. Much different than what’s presented for girls in this day and age.īear is an extremely talented athlete from his circus days but isn’t a bully. He gets dressed up, buys flowers and goes out of his way to win her. Here are some positive lessons you can teach your child with this show- the Bear dotes on and pines for and respects the female bear, tries to impress her and shows chivalry in trying to win her heart, but sometimes has to put his desires on hold to care for his “child”. You’re missing the point which is that actions and behavior have consequences and can affect other people. If the only thing your child gets from this is to be bratty, then you are simply using the TV as a babysitter and educator. She hasn’t learned the repercussions of her actions yet, but does in each episode. She doesn’t know what she doesn’t know yet.

He is so curious and enterprising that he gets himself in trouble because of what he doesn’t know yet. I now have a 20 month old who follows me everywhere and I sometimes have to sneak into the garage to get work done so he doesn’t follow me out there. The animals around her represent those adults in the world who have kids around who want to play with them, but the adult would really rather be doing something else.īut they relent and often enjoy being with her. She finds her own ways of entertaining herself and is extremely creative in finding those ways. In my male mind, she is an excellent example for kids and little girls in particular. Masha is a sweet, innocent, clever, and resilient little girl who is simply naive at times about her actions. Take a look around at youth culture in America and see for yourself how the last few years of PC entertainment for kids has worked out. I grew up on Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry which features slapstick comedy, animals being rude to each other, and trying to kill and eat each other on a daily basis. It’s by far the best computer animation outside a PIXAR movie. This show is everything I could want for myself and my child in an animated show.

I have a 16 year old son and had to sit through so many years of crappy computer animation, annoying characters, and seemingly unending amounts of “noise” from the animation and the music and the dialogue.

This is one of the best animated shows I have seen in years.
